Cragside run by the National Trust is one of the most extraordinary places in the country. It’s beyond stunning and the innovation in the house is jaw-dropping. This is our homage to one of our favourite places.
Lord Armstrong was a Victorian inventor, innovator and landscape genius. In collaboration with architect Richard Norman Shaw, he created Cragside, the first house in the world to be lit by hydroelectricity along with the first proper installation of the electric light bulb. The house has many of his ingenious gadgets and a lot of them are still working. Not only is the house magnificent but there is a wonderful woodland landscape and gardens with lakes. Not surprisingly it was Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Award 2020. Find out how to book to visit the Cragside here.
We have a different version of the layered wood picture coming soon. Available in black or white frame and it will soon be available as a stand alone wood ornament.
